Default Hydrolic fluid for steering question.

So my car used to make a very bad sound when ever i turned the car on and when i drove and i figured out it was the hydrolic fluid for the power steering... or lack there of, there was nooooo fluid there at all, and the only thing that happened was it making a bad noise, i couldntreally feel a difference in performance or handling. So then i put more fluid in and now it sounds perfect

But the only thing im worried about is, how did it get empty in the first place, and am i at risk for it emptying again?

If it leaked out before, it's probably gong to leak again. Did you get under the car and check to see where it's coming from?

When that happened to me it only got worse and worse. Sorry to be pessimistic but have your rack and pinion checked. Mine started out with a slow leak and sooner than later needed a can a week before I up and fixed it. The clod Chicago weather didn't help either, when it contracted it leaked even more. i hope that's not the problem for you but... Have you been doing donuts??? over hauling corners on your Quattro? Yeah, I know that's when they're funnest but that fluid just never goes dry unless...

I never do donuts, and yea, ill sometimes take the turn a bit harder then ur avg rider would. So you think i should still get this checked out by a mechanic?

Mineral based fluid will evaportate over time naturally. But maybe not that exsessively.

If it squeels on a cold morning or if you jack it up and turn the wheel hard right or left and see a leak then, yes I'd take it to a mechanic. Otherwise, you might as well wait till it gets worse cuz if it's the R&P it won't be cheap unless you do the work yourself.

Buy the fluid at a VW or Audi dealer.

Spelling lessons wouldn't hurt either.
