My friend here at school (Clarkson, upstate NY) has the bentley manual, so I'm hoping that there's a decent amount of helpful information in there. The parts are on their way, I'll definately do a walkthrough... gimme a week or so.

All our cars do that. The kits are fairly priced. If you can do the labor yourself and know how to measure the tie rod, so that the alignment isn't too far off then it is a cheap fix. Remember, when you buy a used car, you have to figure in at leat 1K for stuff the previous owner didn't fix, or neglected.

It will be a pain in the A**, as a lot of the bolts will be fused by rust. Hope you have an acetylene torch.

yep. got an air wrench, torch, and lots of pb blaster. i think i'm set.

Ahh man, what a heart breaker. That sucks, I hope everything turns out well.

I wish you luck on your quest to do it alone, should go smooth if you are a pretty mechanical guy. That would definitly be worth the 300 + dollar savings on just labor alone. Good luck!
