Cops don't have "quotas" anymore. At least nothing official, or anything they'll admit to. It's weird tho how on tuesday night the roads were swarming with them. Coincidence? That night an officerthreatened to give me a speeding, exhaust and tint ticket. For driving a legal exhaust, no tint in front windows car less than 25 in a 25 zone. There are fingernail prints in my stearing wheel from how hard i was gripping it durring his lecture. Best quote I wanted to call him out on was "I could hear you speeding."

 

what do you think my chances are that this non sense gets thrown out..The way I see is it, is there are people everyday who sit at designated left turn and dont signal and never get pulled over for that... wtf same difference ya? I was at the same situation but turning right in the right turn lane.. the tint ticket and the turn signal are completly different

 

Hey all cops aren't bad, I know quiet a few of them who are cool people. But they're always those dicks who like to fvck with people. Unfortunately you just got caught by one, hopefully you'll win in court. I work at a training station in dirty jersey, if you think cops don't have quotas you're dead wrong.

 

I believe I'm just the person to answer all these questions.

Do we have quotas?
Yes and no, some departments such as state police do have quotas however, most departments such as county city etc DO NOT have quotas. Sometimes we will have selective enforcement benefits IE county officials want us to crack down on seatbelts so officers who write a certain amount of seatbelt tickets get so many hours of paid leave.

Are you going to beat him in court?
Not very likely, in fact very unlikely. Its his word against yours plain and simple. The court will take the word of the officer over yours PERIOD. It sucks he did that to you it makes us look bad. The tint ticket should have been written after he tested it with an opacity meter, not his naked eye thats unprofessional.

Tint
I personally dont give out tint tickets unless they tint their windshield because thats retarded and dangerous. Even then i issue a repair order where they have to fix their car, no fines. Our reasons for tint laws are for the safety of everyone (being able to see other drivers well at night) and that of officers (I need to know when im walking up to a window that there isnt a ******* gun pointed at me, or know how many people are in the car) I personally have 20 on my car, once you get to 5 its pretty dark.

its on the officer to choose which traffic laws he holds more important. Me i like seatbelt tickets because here its only 25 bucks and no points, not to be corny but they do save lives and after you start getting pulled over for it, you start to wear it. Some guys like tint because they are concerned for officer safety, some turn signals because they believe they prevent accidents. There is an argument to every single one of these on both sides be it civilian or law enforcement. Its on you to choose which explanation you believe is right or wrong.

The magistrate laughed and dismissed the ticket. I don't know about the rest of the world, but if an officer issues a ticket for tint but didn't verify it with a meter, it's immediately dismissed. Same thing for 'estimated speed' tickets and noise violations

you didn'g signal when you made a turn. you get a ticket. i don't understand the gripe? signal next time. nevermind the tint. tint is illegal. you have it. you get a ticket. whast the gripe again? its not like he pulled you out of your car and bashed your head into the sidewalk, he ticketed you for the things you did wrong. if you didn't know they were wrong...then you probably shouldn't be driving. i don't know how people don't signal when they make turns. i don't even think about it when i do it. if i were to not do it, i would literally have to force myself. its a simple thing. if your tint is in fact legal, tell the judge that he didn't use anything to check it besides a flashlight. if htey don't buy it, tell them that the car is outside and they can check it right now. not using your signal is a moving violation though, so you're kinda screwed on that one if you've got another case pending as well. it may not look so bad for the signal ticket, but it definitely will for the one that you end up going to about whatever else you did wrong. you're either a bad driver, or bad at avoiding cops. etiher way though, if you don't change whatever you're doing, you're going to eventually lose your license or kill somebody......then lose your license. good luck.
