The first belt was rather old and wasnt suprised when i saw some shredding. but then i put on a new surpentine belt and it was destroyed within the next day.
Im about to go take a look at everything and check all my pullys, but if anyone knows anything about this or comon problems id love to know.

first of all did u put it on right? lol no hard feelings but that's the most common problem. how is it destroyed? shredded, snapped a little of both. put up sum pix

if it's shredded, usually means one of the pulleys is messed up. make sure u check each one thoroughly

 

Man anything on the belt drive system can cause major damage to the belt.
The a/c compressor for instance, if it gets locked up that will toss the belt.
If someone installed the power steering pulley backwards will toss the belt, a siezed alternator, pulley or tensioner could also do it.
I would try to turn each of the pulleys by hand and see if you can see/feel anything wrong with them.

 

found out what was wrong

turns out....my ac bolts came out. The ac compressor was just ratteling around in there. The person i bought it from told me he just put a brand new compressor in there, hurray for me!

ill be taking some bolts off my parts car and seeing if that solves my belt quandary.

when the serpentine belt snaps your whole car just shuts down, its the scariest thing in the world. I would not wanna go through that twice in 48 hours
