I need to change my thermostat
Im starting to hate this car... it keeps overheating and I have worked on alot of cars and I have never had a car be this effin difficult to bleed the air out of the system, I dont know what should be my next step at least before the car was just cold and it took forever to warm up if it did, do you think that temp. sensor will fix my problem, any guys local in racine, WI please get back to me with any good information Cause I now dont have a car and I just bought this car and so far I have liked it...
Now are you sure its actually overheating or is the gauge just saying it is? Im thinking that you either have a bad CTS sensor or your water pump may be bad which is why its slowly overheating.
ok, my question is do you really think the coolant tempature sensor would fix this, as in is this a common way to fix this problem? Also would the water pump being bad not be noticable because of the fact that the thermostat wasnt working?
It would be if the car was truely not overheating! You have to feel/measure the heat of the hoses to see if its at the correct temp before you make judgements on the gauge.
A bad thermostat can mask a bad water pump though.

You need to follow the proper bleed procedure.
Loosen and slide the hose going into the heater core back until you see the small bleed hole.
Unscrew all 3 bolts from the coolant resevoir. Hold it up in the air as high as you possibly can. Add (or have a buddy add) coolant until you see coolant coming out of the bleed hole you exposed. re-attach heater core hose properly, re-screw in coolant resevoir. Run engine for a little bit, check coolant level, add if necessary. This should take care of it for you.
Good luck!

I tried that when I pulled the hose back from the heater core there was no bleed hole... now the hose I tried this on was the hose right next to the battery, is that the correct hose?
There should be two large hoses going into the firewall, one going in to the core, one coming out.The bleed hole is on the right side hose (if you are standing at the front of the car facing the windshield). So, you must have slid back the wrong one.
