I have a 98 a4 2.8 Quattro. I recently bought a scanner to read the trouble codes and these are what came up. 18010 , 16771 .I need to know what they mean and if I can take care of them myself how serious they are or not etc etc. please help

 

this scanner - is it a VAGcom? or is it a generic scanner?

16771: no idea what that is - Bentley does not even mention it. You sure thats the corrct code?

 

I couldnt find em in bentley either.. Sounds like a generic scanner to me. Is your scanner orange audijones?

 

Even my cheapo ebay one came with a book and they link up with the bently ones.

So what do I do about the low voltage situation?. Also about the other code Im not sure but maby it could be possibly linked to the service code.. just an idea. I have that "in 2" blinking for 10 secs when I start the car then changes to how many miles ive gone. Ive recently had my oil changed and Im getting my coolant flushed and a new coolant tank put in and of course new coolant as well. oh and my scanner is orange, cant remeber the manufacture offhand right know though.

 

isnt in 2, second inspection?

This should be reset upon your second inspection, which is at like 20k miles... i think you are passed that

 

Yeah im past 20k miles. Im at 140k anyways how do I reset the "in 2" also still waiting to see how or what I do about the low voltage code somebody please help
