Default idle prob still cant figure out.

Well my engine has been idling really rough and sometimes it wont fire, all this since i put my carbonio intake on. I did pull a codes for cyl. 1/3/4 and there was also a "Multiple engine misfire" code but i think that may have come from seafoaming the car and letting too much in to the manifold. I have tried cleaning out the MAF and also i checked the intakes fitting just to make sure it wasnt leaking anywhere letting junk into the engine or something and came up with nothing. Im not getting any CEL when the car doesnt fire or it idles like crap. My shop told me that they would have no where to look until the CEL comes on(idiots.) So im stuck now and i have nothing to go off of, i know that theres many posts now about this problem but the difference is it seems to have something to do with the intake and it now happens more frequently and i can tell its getting worse but it happens at such random times. The engine can be bone cold or just driven several miles. I go to turn it on again and it wont fire. sometimes it idles really high for several seconds or it doesnt get up past 700rpm's

you dont' have to remove it. there's a intake/throttle body cleaner that you just spray and it'll clean it. CTS= coolant temp sensor. it can cause weird problems that are hard to diagnose because it will send weird signals to the ecu when it's screwed up.

There's a coolant temp sensor swap DIY writeup on either AudiDIY.com or AudiWorld.com - one of the two has it and it's detailed pretty well.

I'd try swapping back to the OEM intake setup just to confirm that it's indeed your new intake that's the problem. It does exhibit symptoms of a dirty TB or bad CTS. But, unless you got some debris caught in the TB while during the intake change, it would be hard to emphatically say those were bad if it ran good with the old intake.

Yeah go back to your stock box then see if the problem arises again.

You guys thinking maybe the oil from the filter is freaking out the MAF? Not a bad idea.
