If I pay inspection at Audi, how safe am I?
Guys, I am consideringbuying anAudi A4from a small car sales place:
http://www.kvlautosales.com/
Externally speaking car looks good.
I pulled the Carfax (offered by the salesman) and the Audi A4 2005.5 has 24K miles. It says in the carfax that car was leased as part of a fleet. Then it was sold at auction.
So my question is, if I take the car to the nearest Audi dealer and pay $250 to get an a full inspection done, do you think that such inspection is sufficient to tell me that car is indeed ingood condition?

Shouldnt cost 250. Maybe around 100 for a full inspection including test drive. Probably wont find to many things on a car that new, however its a good idea to get an inspection. They may notice something that indicates the car has been in an accident or to a body shop. Fleet vehicle can mean alot of things. Most likly it was used as a loaner car. The dealers leasethe loaners from audi and usually quialify as fleet vehicles.
well you're never safe because things make look good and still go bad. like the coilpack for instance, there's really no way to test that unless you have the tools but to check everything like that would take forever and cost alot more than 250. basically, if you drive it in the city and on the highway and it feels good then you'll be pretty safe. test drive it hard though, i always do cuz it's not my car yet anyways hehe. and like audinoob said a trusted mechanic is much better
