hey guys my name is Alen, im new to the site. I just traded in my 06 Evo 9 Mr for a 06 Audi A4 3.2 so i thought i might join the forums and get some advice on these cars...my car is a 6-speed and i love it its a lot better to drive than my evo was and belive it or not i cant belive im saying this but it handles better than my old evo...anyways lemme get to the point.

my little sister bought a 2005 Audi 2.0T its a automatic she bought it last night...i finally got a chance to drive it this morning i like my 6 a lot more than the 4 but anyways something really suprised me...i put the car in auto stick and the dash stated it had 7 gears? i drove it in the autostick and shifted thru all 7 gears...is this some kind of freak audi or do all the automatic one's come 7 speed??? if anybody knows please post and let me know because i dont think thats right....

 

All the sites i see say 6 speed. It could be an overdrive, i dont know

 

don't know about the gears, but tell your sister to get an APR chip and she'll be slightly faster than you

 

Her car is front wheel drive and has a cvt(continuously varible trans, like a snowmobile). They can chose from an infinite number of gears for the tip mode. It could have been a really closely geared 20 speed if they wanted. They just chose 7 because they felt it performed/suited the car best.
