hello. i have an Audi A4 1.8l NA 1997, imported from germany. Its a lovely car.

i am thinking of taking out the cat converter and replace with a straight flow fibre wrapped pipe that deadens the sound but allow the hot gas to pass.

would that improve performance dramatically? kwatts please.

what other modifications recommended? without tinkering with th pistons and connecting rod etc... please advise!! mojo_is@yahoo.co.uk

He said he has a NA = normally aspirated = no turbo.

There are no mods that are going to be especially powerful for you. Better of selling it and getting a turbo'd car.

Yeah, but probably not until next spring though. I'll probably pick up an S4 Avant.

 

i love NA cars but they are really expensive to tune and it takes alot to get real power out of NA

 

Yeah you have to resort to traditional tuning methods, porting/polishing. I've never owned a turbo car so i'm pretty excited, for when the time comes.
