Default Information on removing radiator needed.

Hey all. Can anyone provide any information on removing a radiator. I have a 96 a4 2.8. i just let a friend borrow my car and he rearended a semi. damage was done only to the hood, ac condensor, radiator, both fans, and one headlamp. My bumper has not even a single mark on it. Anyways, i took the one broken headlamp out, it wasnt cracked, just the mounting brackets were broken so i could just pull it out. Now i am having problems removing the other headlamp because the torx bolt at the bottom of the lamp is impossible to reach. But once i get that headlamp out i will be able to remove the bumper to get the the condensor and radiator. Any advice on that pain in the *** torx thats holding my headlamp in? Also if you know any good online diagram showing the cooling systems of my year car it would be greatly appreciated.

You don't have to remove the headlights to pull the bumper off. There are two bolts that must be removed at the front of the bumper. Then the bumper slides off after a series of difficult moves of the bumper skin. Just follow the steps in this tutorial:

Are you sure that applies to the 96 12v 2.8 quattro? Because i just took the two screws from the wheel well, couldnt find the six along the bottom but where i took my headlamp out there is a bumper mount that has 3 45 torx bolts holding it on. If thats the case, my problem still isnt solved because of my passenger headlamp and its crazy mount. Thanks for your time man, its greatly appreciated.

Huh? i'm confused. What six along the bottom? There are two long bolts behind the lower grill inserts. After that the bumper will slide forward and back along the tracks on the sides. You then follow the instructions to remove it from the tracks. It's usually not an easy task to do though.

it shouldn't be to hard to do. the two bolts in front and get it off the track. you can do the torx if you want but they are a pain and not nessisary.

Ok here's some more help. This tutorial is for a S4, but it is essentally the same. The only difference is the front grill removal.
