also, there is a group buy going on right now at avalon motorsports on je pistons and pauter rods.
Do you have a link, because according to their website the only group buy right now is on rs4 bumpers but I am interested in the rods and pistons.

has anyone run upsolute without going through multiple mafs?
I have seen people on this site replace an alternator bought from autozone that was bad right out of the box, then brought it back to them only to have Autozone tell them the alt. is good when they were not doing load tests on the alt and it was still a bad alt. I have seen people buy starters from Autozone and still the car wouldn't start then they brought it to me at work and the starter was bad right out of the box. I bought a battery from Walmart (the best. most powerfull one they had) and it was bad, 2 days later had to go back to get a new one. After 6 months I had gone through 5 batteries before getting one that lasted a year untill I sold the car. These batteries had a 7 year warranty. If you buy parts that are not of good quality the part will fail faster.

Unless you have talked with Inmotion about your conserns you would have no idea how good or bad their tuning is. His garranty was nothing compared to the piece of mind he gave me. He wanted me to dattalog it and post it and if I didn't have the equipment have was going to bring it to me. I can do it at work but cannot connect to the internet to post it so he said he would get the equipment to me. Anyone willing for you to run dynos and datalogging and is willing to send/bring the equipment needed to prove the programming is good is very reputable, because datalogging doesn't lie. Oh and dattalogging before the chip install would would show what condition the MAF is in.

Alias, I agree. I am going to have to wait a bit to. I also need to get the 710N and I am thinking about maybe getting a 5 bar fuel pressure reg so I can run the 1.1bar chip(not sure yet though). The cool part is that the place I got my car from is an authorized audi parts dealer and I can get everything direct from Audi for 20% off! It's not much but it helps!!!

TractionControl, You are right about the piece of mind. No matter what I asked the guy he was able to answer. I have never felt so comfertable talking to a guy about something like this becuase I don't know if he is just blowing smoke up my butt. But this guy is really good at what he does and really knows his stuff.

I CAN'T WAIT TO GET ONE OF THESE CHIPS!!!

Josh

P.S. I am just mad that I can't do the free chip tune. Stupid 2WD dynos[:@][:@][:@]GRRRRR...

Hey everyone,
I went on to ebay and asked a guy that bought one of the InMotion chips what he thought. This is his response:

"Hey... funny, been answering a lot of these lately. So far so good... I guess I've had it tuned for about a month now. InMotion USA is in the Portland, OR area, and so am I, so the guy came out to my house to flash my ECU. He seems very experienced in VAG vehicles and has been doing this work for a while. I think the tune they use is pretty much the same as the standard tune you can get from other places for around $400 - $500, but it isn't as aggressive as the higher octane tunes. I immediately felt the difference... way more torque down low, turbo spooled faster, and boost went up to a tick over 20 lbs on my Audi TT. So far so good... no problems."

I am 99.99999999% sure that the guy who does all these chips is very professional and knows what he is doing. He has been able to answer ALL of my questions and he doesn't try and beat around the bush to answer them. As soon as I can get the money I am getting one of these chips as well as the TipChip from them. (I am not doing the free chip becuase it will cost more for me to go dyno the car then the chip becuase the closest AWD dyno is in Seattle (about 5hrs away).)

Josh

There are no AWD dynos in SPOKANE, not portland.

So to get the 1.1 bar chip all that you need extra is a fuel presure regulator? How much do those cost? Link?

Other than that just a upgraded DV and you are set?

I think that it might put extra presssure on your turbo though wouldn't it?

Oh speaking of which, if this is a 1 bar chip, what are the APR and GIAC chips are they supposed to be 1 bar as well?

You can get the new DV and fuel pressure reg. at the audi dealership. I have a connection there so i can get them 20% off. Or I am also going to look on e-bay. Here are the links though that James gave me:
http://www.performance-cafe.com/prod...oducts_id=1081http://www.neuspeed.com/products/product_details.asp?app=12|AQ&type=11&ltyp e=ns_euro&p_id=1054http://www.neuspeed.com/products/product_details.asp?app=12|AQ&type=11&ltyp e=ns_euro&p_id=1765And I think that the 1 bar is the same as the GIAC and APR chips, but I am not sure. I think that I am going to go with the 1 bar chip, but who knows. LOLJosh

Yeah, I don't know if I want to go through the hassle and extra money for the 1.1 bar chip. Although that nuespeed press. reg. is fairly cheap, I wonder how hard it is to install it?

Yeah I am not sure either. I just sent an e-mail to inmotion asking the difference between the 1 and 1.1 bar chips and price differnce. I will let you know what he says.

I'm the guy he emailed through Ebay and the one quoted... the top paragraph of the quote is mine, the bottom part is his response in this forum... it is not a quote from me. Regardless, kinda stupid to call someone "bright" or not because they did or didn't know about a dyno in their town. Whatever...

I've posted before on this on-going thread just to give my view. People have been walking around the InMotion subject for a LONG time, and after doing my own research for a couple weeks, I decided to go ahead and do it. Besides, the Jason you guys have been talking to is actually in the Portland area (Clackamas), and instead of sending me the equipment to flash the ECU myself (my TT was flashable), he met me at my house and did it for me. The dude seems very knowledgeable and we talked half the time about the shop he owned, shops he's worked for, how much work he does on the tuning side, etc. I'm no Audi/VAG pro, but this guy seems to know an awful lot about what he's doing.

I'd say you're pretty lucky if you live in the Portland area... since he's here, you can get pretty damn good service pretty easily. I'm sure he'll do what it takes for those out of area, but I'm just really lucky I am where I am and he was more than willing to meet in person.

Other than that, I've had no issues with the TT that weren't there before the flash. I knew my MAF was going before the tune... I've been getting a CEL and codes since I bought it, but it can be swapped. Right after the tune Jason told me to take it for a spin. I left him in my driveway and didn't want to go too far, so I went a couple blocks around and came back... I immediately felt the difference (listed in the quote here already). My boost gauge shows the boost, it seems nice and smooth, and the torque is evident. I've only had it for a month or so, and so far so good... I don't really see any reason why anything would go bad because of the tune, so I'm happy. I don't plan on getting it dyno'd as it really isn't worth it to me since I'm just happy with the price to performance ratio I feel, so if someone else plans on tuning with them and dyno'ing... I hope they post the numbers!
