This is really annoying i installed the ECU+chip combo from APR with the same ecu number as the stock one but the check engine light wont turn off. I did this today does that matter, i mean does it go off in a day or 2?

Well the check engine light is on for some reason. You need to get the car scanned. Try autozone, it's free. Or better yet go buy a Vag-Com (which you should have already since you've started modding).

 

I dont have VAG-COM where can i get it and how much is it? Also whats autozone?

Hmmm well I don't know what to tell you. You can try unplugging your battery for a half hour. If the CEL comes back on after that, then you have problems that need to be addressed.

 

It takes 24 hours for it to go off dont worry about it yet if it keeps going then wait 48 hours after that contact apr anfd they will tell you where to go

 

So this happened to you as well? Is this standard with APR chips that the light comes on and then dissapears after 24 hours?

Hey you were right i just went to turn on the car and the check engine light was not on any more. Thanks for your help. What is the fuel consumption difference between the stock and chipped ecu? Both on streets and highway driving?

 

you should get slightly improved gas mileage
