installing a K04 setup....
after several months of trying to find a reliable shop in my area to install several parts (k04, chip, motor mounts, fpr, etc.) I have decided to install it myself. The only area im not too familiar with is instaling the turbo and fpr. Questions I have concern how to properly put in the turbo with the oil lines and such. Ive heard after you install the turbo to take the ecu out (so the car wont start) and crank the car so the oil flows into the turbo correctly. Also, any other suggestions to install a 5bar fpr and any suggestions to make the turbo install easier or tips would be much appreciated!! Thanks

turbo isn't that hard, there are some nice DIYs.... let me see if i can find the links i used.....
I didn't crank the engine manual after the install, i just put a little oil in the oil line before i connected it to the turbo so it wasn't dry when it started.
I think the hardest part was just the damn turbo to CAT bolts, that one on the bottom is a bitch, i still have a scar on my wrist where it wore raw aginst the wheel well and the CATand that was more the 6 months ago.

You'll need to pull the fuel pump relay and run the lines dry before you change the fpr.
Iguess thats common knowledge, butI needed something to post!
Best advice I can give here, is make sure you have a Haynes/Bently manual handy just in case, for things like the proper fuel line procedures.
And dont forget to take some pics during the install!

yah the bolts shouldn't be a problem since i just put on a hfc and full exhaust. I could see that being a bitch to take off tho. You didnt happen to have any problems just putting some oil in the lines before you connected it to the turbo?

You can get a haynes at just about any autoparts store, autozone, advance, etc.
Just find your year/model, the haynes is only about $15. The bently is probably a little better, but aLOT more expensive. I have the haynes, and I like it a lot.
