ok i gotta another question...again 01 a4 quattro 5spd 2 of the lines in the display in the instrument cluster have worn out and it bothers the hell outta me....now i can get my hands on a matching cluster that has 20k less on the odometer...if i put this in do i have to reprogram? will the vag com do it? and if u dont have to which mileage will show?

 

I think whatever mileage is actually on the computer will be displayed on the odometer. Not sure though ,a search will probably answer that for you.

i say spend youre money on something else and deal woth a messed display. just turn it off like the rest of us.

while we are on the subject. i have aftermarket HID's how can i trick my cluster to not give the headlight bulb out yellow warning light every time i have my lights on?

its in the ecu. when you put a new cluster in you have to program it to the car or else it wont work. part of this process transfers the mileage to the new cluster.

 

ok now can u reprogram it with vag com?

 

it can be done one time by the dealer and only once then it locks it out is what I have been told
