hey amze, do you notice any intake drone when you're crusing on the highway now? every other car I've had an intake on has had horrible issues with droning around 3-3.5K rpms, which is right around cruising speed on the highway. I don't want to touch the stock airbox if it's going to drone. so, any annoying noise?
The intake is only really audiable when the throtle plate is open a significant amount. If you need to hit the gas THAT hard to keep up freeway speeds in 5th gearat 3k rpms then there is somthin wrong.
in my last car, which was a neon (spare me the flaming, I know), I noticed a huge difference in droning noise when I did the intake. that car droned a bit stock though, so it may just be the head design on the 420A engine that makes it noisy. with the intake though, it was really annoying around 3500 rpm, which is around 75 mph. I can't hear the motor at all in my audi when I'm on the freeway (unless I floor it of course), and I'm kind of hoping to keep it that way. I don't mind if the car makes noise when I'm getting on it, but I like it to be quiet the rest of the time, and that includes highway driving.
