Default ipod in car question

Well right now im using a tape adapter and the hissing noise is bugging me, plus it cuts the bass of a song by like 50% and doesnt make my sub bump as much...so the tape adapter is gonna go. The mp3yourcar.com way is like $200....and honestly, that's rediculous. I saw the "Aux-Pod" and got my hopes up...but thats $150...crazy.

If i bought this
http://www.discountcarstereo.com/detail.aspx?ID=733

I imagine that I would hook that up in my trunk where my cd changer is connected? (The site says 12 pin connector, everywhere else I have heard i have a 13 pin connector...kinda confusing me.) And then i would run a cable that goes from Red/White to Headphone jack.

If I did that, since it is still outputting from my ipod headphone jack...would i have any hissing noise or bass reduction? I have the Bose system.

SInce you have the bose system i don't really know how to do it but thought i'd share with ya how i didn it in case it helps you.

I've got a Panasonic head unit with Aux inputs built in the back, and all i did was plug in an RCA cable and route it to my glove box, then attached a female connector that goes into a headphone jack to that. So all i gotta do is plug in the ipod into the headphone jack and put the deck on AUx,and it plays from the pod and there's like 3 feet extra cord to put the pod in a holder on my console when it's in use. No sound quality loss at all (other than from the compresion into MP3 format).

Dunno if it helps at all... but i know that it's possible... Good luck man!!!

Default RE: ipod in car question

does anyone know if the B6 A4's have the aux inputs in the back? I haven't taken out the stereo, but if it does have the inputs, it can save me 200 bucks for the icelink..
For example, at home i connect my ipod to my surroubd sound system through a Y cable (one end in the ipod headphone hole and the other has the red and white cable that go in the back of the stereo)...it sounds awesome
if we have these red/white audio inputs in the back of the symphony II, then why would i bother with the icelink?

if anyone has taken out a symphony II and knows if there are/are not the red/white inputs, please let me know
