Default Ipod connection from ecs?

Ok thinking of some ideas for christmas. Ran across this setup from ecstuning, seems to be an oem audi ipod connection. Has anyone had any experience with putting this in their car on the factory radio? I searched, there seems to be some other setups, but im particularly interested in this one just because it seems like it would be so clean compared to say an FM transmitter.

Yeah, i know, the FM transmitter is gay and exactly why im wondering what to do otherwise. Ecs says the setup they have is oem, so i presume you can get it in a new audi if you choose the option??

something like http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...ksid=p3907.m32

will work too. it plugs into the cd changer harness in the trunk and has RCA ports to run lines to the front. it's not as nice but it's just an idea. audi also had a phatnoise 20gb thing that is basically like the ipod. i don't know if your car has those ports, however the 01.5 and the s4 do.

I dont have a cd changer in the back, plus if i went with the setup from ecs, it would just go from the radio to the glove compartment, alot less hassle if you ask me.

I bought this FM transmitter and it works really well. I know that most of them don't work worth a crap but this one actually does work.

i have the same one but i can't really compare it to anything because i haven't seen the way other ones work. i'm not too happy with it though. i would have to crank the volume on the ipod all the way up and turn the volume on the headunit higher in order to hear the music. music also sounds deeper too. however there's no static at all which is a good thing.

Hmm thats odd. I just have the volume turned up to about 3/4 of the way on my Zune and still relatively low on the headunit. It sounds like either I have a better one and you got a dud or the iPod doesn't work with it as well.
