Default jackstand placement

hey guys/gals,

does anyone know if there's a spot (or, more specifically, where that spot is!) to place jackstands on a 2000 A4 for an oil change, etc...?

thanks!

I think it's well referenced in the manual, but IIRC, it is just behind the front wheels or just in front of the rear wheels (depending on which end you want to jack up). Both sites are about 6 inches away from the wheel wells. They have a cross member that attaches (welded) near the same spot. They are referenced by two button sized "nodules". Whatever you do, don't lift at the thin edge of metal that projects downward along the bottom of the car (set in about 3 inches) unless you have a jack that specifically fits that lip - you will damage the car if you jack it on that lip with the wrong jack.

Yeah, there are diamond shaped indentations in the base of the panel. Just place the jack stand or lift right below those diamonds and you are good to go.
