RE: Just bought the car and it DIED
search the forum for the codes.....they're out there....
The first probably points to the alternator/battery saying the + voltage is low
Thesecond indicates a rich condition probably caused from number 3, which is indicative of a boost leak somewhere.
So, likely somewhere you have a boost/air leak. First look around the airbox since you were working there, then start looking at all your vac lines for anything split / cracked. Also look at the L shaped crankcase breather tube behind the engine. These are faily common things to fail.

RE: Just bought the car and it DIED
An experienced Audi tuner suggested the MAF readings seem to be very high.
I unplugged the MAF and started the car, it seemed to be idling fine, no more rough idling. But as soon as I tried to drive the car it died, and it gave me a check engine light saying 16486: Mass Air Flow sensor too low.
So is it safe to assume that the MAF is the culprit? And how do I know it's not the MAF cables/plugs, or possibly the Ignition Control Module causing the problem?
Thanks.

RE: Just bought the car and it DIED
Well, you just passed the test for a bad maf.
If you unplug at idle, and the rough idle goes away, its a bad MAF. You cant drive it like that though.
So, replace the MAF, you should be fixed. If the connector looks corroded, you could try cleaning the connector and MAF and see if that fixes it, but probably it needs replaced. I think you already cleaned it, so there you go.
