for some reason I am only reading 12 at idle. AWE says it should be 17-20. I am very new to turbos so I dont know what this means. It is boosting to about 10. Could this be the DV??

 

You're reading 12 PSI at idle?! That's not right. If you get any boost at idle it will be VERY minimal.

 

Also, you're going to have to let us know some specs on your car before we can determine what, if anything, is wrong with it. What year, which chip, any other mods, etc.

 

Yeah man, that isn't right. Check to see if you set everything up properly. I'm sure it's just a faulty reading.

 

Ok I just checked all the line from the turbo and found a large hole in the y- hose behind the plenum. I will try to explain. Goes turbo to a metal hose (along side of the plenum) to this y hose. one of the y's goes into the plenum and the other goes down between the engine and firewall. If this is not clear enough I will go take a picture.

 

If it was a boost leak it still wouldn't read that high though. It would read lower. I would think it's just a mechanical problem in the gauge itself.

When you rev, how much boost does it read? (I'm guessing you have a fairly stock setup, no fiddling with boost pressure, correct?)

When I drive it goes up to 10psi of boost and at idle it is reading 12 vac

 

WOW I was not paying attention. It is 12 vac not psi

 

Here are the pistures. And yes that marker is inside the broken hose, it is ripped to shreds.
