Just fit 19's on my B5.. now there's vibration!?!? Help!
Hey guys,
I just fit 19x8.5 ET40 wheels and obviously the ride is stiffer, though i can feel a lot more vibration through the car. I tried them without hub rings for a few minutes, and the ride was very shaky. Then i put the hub rings on, and the vibration was minimised but its still there. There's a tiny bit of rubbing at both ends, but i doubt its this..
Is this something i can eliminate or is it due to my hub rings just not being 100% perfect?
Any help would be much greatly appreciated!
Oh, also anyone had any probs with fitting their 19's on a B5 i should be aware about?

agreed... the size of the tire shouldnt have anthing to do with vibration... did you buy the wheels used or new? maby a flat spot or dent in the wheel? would definatly o and get them re-balanced as said before
I picked up some Carlsson 1/6th Evo's 2nd hand. I know Carlssons are for Mercs.. in fact all my friends are like "your car looks like a merc now" lol

I think it might be the spigot rings (hub rings?) which just go inside the wheel. They aren't exactly a super tight fit when placed into the wheel.. so vibration might come from there. Don't think theres any buckling in the wheels or needs major balancing as the car still drives straight..
I'll see how it goes and hopefully post pics up soon. cheers guys

seen this issue a few time and it came down the the spigot rings and wrong bolts fitted, the guy fitted new wheels and used the standard bolts (not for alloys) and it wore the whole in the alloy
oh sh*t.. i better check that. Cos the guy said before he got the bigger longer bolts, he once used standards bolts which werent long enough and big enough on them.. uhoh
