Just got back from the dealer.
Those that change their oil with synthetic, ever 7K mi.,
will have engines last 250K mi. I'd be happy to have mine last 170K mi.
I do not have sludge and have 134K mi. I add one quart around @ 8K mi.

Well here its 15000 km's Audi said, so I said that it was way too high, and they said it was ok, I just take the car to them and do an in between oil change at my own cost. Which I dont mind I have a friend that has had a 1997 A4 and did the same thing the car currently has 394000 km's on it which is 245 000 miles and the car still runs great, and he maintains it really well. He said he will drive it until it dies which was last year, and he was hoping it would die because he wanted a new audi....STILL runing and no signs of death LOL
Its safe with synthetic oil to go every 10k miles. My ar has almost 130k miles, plus being turbo'd, i just find it worth it. And doing your own oil saves you a whole lot of $$ and you know it is done right. I go every 3k which is expencive, but being in college now, my car sits around more than anything.
I can afford beer or gas...not both.
