Just got back from the mechanic...Need some advice
Well right now I'm still learning. I need this stuff done ASAP so I can get the car inspected. After this though I will try to do most of it myself

WOOOHOOOO I'm happy for you! Thats awesome, and is a reasonable price for what he is going to do! I'm glad you took our advice.

Trust me so am I. You guys saved me a few grand haha. I can't wait to get this done and start doing some stuff myself.
KDM tunning usually charges a bit higher than other shops. Here is the shop I use and the price is fairly reasonable.

what the first tech said you need sounds like a bunch of bunch of bs in my opinion....
I've seen absolutely professional looking/speaking counter guys seriously overstate problems and recommend a whole slew of extra repairs to "be sure that we squelch the problem".
I've also heard a guy who got a quote for 4000 to for parts AND labor for a new engine on this forum.
Oil pan? how can the tell its bent without taking it off? ugh..!!

danny at kmd tuning knows his shii. if he says you need to replace somehing, it's because it's very bad and dangerous to have. and thats a lot of shii that has to be done. labor and parts 5300 doesnt sound bad considering all that shii!! but hey if you cant afford it, then get other estimates, you'll probably save but kmd tuning's one of tha best in nj. and tell u one thing, if u get all that shii done, you'll kno that nuttin else can go wrong w/ ur car unless u beat on it everyday. lol
but good luck w/ that shii
but good luck w/ that shii
what state did you buy this car in? don't they have lemon laws? if they do you have 2 choices, either make the guy you bought it from pay for the repairs, or get your money back and give him the car back. either way, you don't lose. so if you wanna keep the car make the guy pay!

I was hoping to go there but a Google search for The Dealer Alternative brought up nothing. The email address is no longer working and the phone number does not go to them.

Seth is one of the best mechanics I've come by in the business. He's been working on my car since I've owned it. Give him a call if you need assistance.
I was thinking about this post, and people were talking about a 5300 bill, well, juts tring to break it down. Even with the full fix oil pan etc, an Audi workshop should not need more than 16 hours labour to perform this task. Having worked on many brands, not Audi though, do you need to take the motor out for an oil pan. When ever I have done that we have hitched the motor up and removed the cross member for access. On other cars I have replaced an oil pan in a few hours this way.
