replace the boot... if you area DIY guy, you will need to get metal band crimp pliars from audi or somewhere else.. im not sure if the autozone ones will work or not.... i hear its a messy, pain in the *** job but not terribly difficult....everyone always gets too dirty to take pics

get some street density motor mounts from 034 and DIY.. there are some writeups on audizine as well.. many reviews of them there as well... install should be about 15 min each side if u do it right...

 

While I have all this preventative stuff done, what other items should I look into replacing, checking out?

do they sell half axles? or do you have to buy the WHOLE driveshaft?

 

A half shaft is the entire axle. If you want to buy the axle you can get them pretty cheap at www.ecstuning.com, but im telling you our cv axles are "bulletproof" (quote me on that) you can run around with a blown cv boot for years and the joint will still be ok, they are that strong.
Its not a damn honda where axles go out every otheryear

Motor mounts under cpo warranty usually?

 

Motor mounts were cut out of cpo and factory warranty because of hack techs making too much money on them like the 2.7T motor.
