Ok so it was snowing pritty bad here in minneapolis and i was ******* around when i curb checked my back wheel pritty bad making the wheel dented in... they said they need to get a tie rod in there to do exact messurments to see if the knuckle is bad... they gave me 350+ fora used rim and tir rod.. if its the knuckle they said 600+.. im unfimiluar with the term knuckle>> is that the balljoint?? im assuming i can get a better price if i searched around for used parts..
thanks
thanks
I doubt it but im in the UK so spindle would mean spindle here that is lol and ball joint is like the knuckle joint on you fingers that's why we call it a knuckle joint because we rip our knuckles trying to get them off
They are talking about the spindle. Parts that bend in a curb check are inner or outer tie rods, steering knuckle/spindle, wheel hubs, control arms, strut rodsand rims. Parts that break in a in a curb check are tie rod ends, springsand ball joints. they are not talking about the ball joint or you would already know there is a problem and they would have added a wheel speed sensor and a brake line if not more to the list of parts needed. If you actually need a tie rod from the curb check it should be visibly bent (play in suspention parts is from wear and tear so if you need one due to play it was already bad), otherwise it would take an alignment machine to tell you if anthing other than the wheel is bent or the bent part would be visibly bent.
