yea the whole process will hafta be done, uninstall and reinstall the belts. You could get it written on paper and signed that yours will be good until the next scheduled maintenance. Then when it does break, free motor for you!

Get it done! The tensioners are known to cause timing belt failures.

like i said above, if you're going in there again, it's a good idea to replace your front cam shaft seals (5 bucks each @ ecs, you have 4), and snub mount (50 bucks from apr, ecs, awe...or 13 bucks from greedspeed)

jest, how important is it to replace the rollers? i don't think i've ever heard of them failing before....

I'd change the tensioner and the rollers. I dont know much about the cam seals, i didnt change mine, but alot of ppl recommend changing them so you might as well,

I'm not sure how mechanical you are but changing this stuff isnt really that difficult, if you are local to me I'd help you out
Just noticed your a 2.8 that might make things a little more difficult. Maybe there's a 2.8 owner around that has experience, and could do it for a beer or 2

you need to change the tensioner for sure. the rest of this stuff is just recommended, and can save you big bucks in the long run...

their is one tensioner roller, and one idler roller....they are about 40-50 bucks a piece though (ecstuning.com has them)....i've never heard of a roller going out, but i can't tell you that it won't happen if they aren't replaced....the snub mount is unrelated to your timing belt, it absorbs driveline shock during shifting, and it wears out...it can make your shifts feel sloppy. it's cheap, and it just pops on and off (once you have the front end off for the timing belt).....the front cam shaft seals can sometimes leak over time, they aren't necessary to replace but they're only 5 bucks a piece, so it's a good idea
