Default just installed boost gauge, some questions

so i installed my garrett boost gauge today in my 99.5 a4 1.8TQM, it only spikes around 4psi and holds around 3 and when i'm off the gas it stays around 20hg in vacuum. just making sure this could be normal?.. from what i've found searching it should spike around 7-8. i can't hear any boost leaks so i dont know whats up.

i'm installing a 710N dv tomorrow, and getting it chipped wednesday, just want to make sure something isn't messed up with the install of the gauge.

thanks for the help.

Have you had it scanned for codes? 4psi may be limp mode, so I'd get that checked out. Your vacuum is supposed to be at 20 at idle, so you're good their.

Your most likely in limp mode. Try disconnecting your battery (after you scan for codes) and let it sit for about 10 min. This will clear anything there and take you out of limp mode. Re-connect your battery and then do the throttle body alignment by turning your key to the on position and letting it sit there for a few min w/out starting the car. Then start the car and drive around. See what happens.

Go to any autoparts store and they will scan it for you for free. I got to autozone or schucks. Also if you clear it it will be out of limp mode BUT it could come back. Go get your car scanned and see what comes up. Then try resetting your ecu. OR you can reset it now and see if anything comes back. If it does then get it scanned and see what it is. Depending on how long it's been like that it might be an old code. Up to you.
