!. I don't think that it's my fuel pump because I can put my ear to the TB and hear it.
2. My car doesn't have a secondary air pump. If I do then I have never seen it and it's not in the same place as in my friends 01 A4 1.8T.

off the shelf intakes are garbage. I had the lltek one and had noticable losses. Then I routed the filter down behind the foglight (im 99.5 so no secondary air pump), and there was a little improvement over stock, not very noticable though.
