Default Just ordered my timing belt....

I just ordered my timing belt off of the links one of you guys gave me to ecs tunning! It was $271 for everything I needed to change it, so it's not that bad. The mechanic in my town said he could do everything for $400. So in total it's about $800! I'll let you guys know how it goes.

Do you have to take off the front end to replace the timing belt? There has to be an easier way.

I need to find an independent Audi mechanic in the Orange County area that would do it a similar price. Anybody have any recommendations?

Yea I got a timing belt kit from ECS for about that price and found an audi tech whose doing it independently for only 250! I'm actually in CT right now waiting for him to finish.

Do it yourself man. I did mine and i learned a ton about my car. it might take 1 whole day to do but its worth the time and effort. just start on a saturday and u'll be done by sunday afternoon, even with minor problems, like forgetting to double check if your timing belt is tight before putting the whole car back together.[:@]DOH!

I don't even have the type of tools needed for that sort of thing! I called my families mechanic and he said it was impossible for him to do, because he wouldn't know where to start!
