Default Engine oil hot weather

I almost hate to ask because I know there are so many posts about engine oil. I did do a search but there are an awful lot of posts. They mostly just ask what to use. I have already checked out this post about recommended oils: https://www.audiforums.com/m_16044/tm.htm
Since I like Mobil 1, the general answer is 0W-40

My question is about engine oil for cars located in the south where it is very warm and you don't get snow.

I live in SC so I don't have to worry about cold temps, I have to worry about 100 degree temps. Looking through the owners manual, there is a chart for oil. For oils that handle higher temps, it recommends 5W-50, 10W-50/60, 15W-40/50, 20W-40/50. I used 15W-50 Mobil 1 right after I bought my car (before I joined the forum and read about 0W-40) based on the owners manual recommendations.

So, I see that 0W-40 is usually recommended, but that is also in reference to 1.8Ts. For my V6 in hot weather, I am wondering if it would be better to run a different viscosity such as the one I purchased or if I should really be using 0W-40. Fully synthetic is a given in this situation.

Any info is appreciated.

Its been pretty hot and humid here in Iowa. I run 10w30 synthetic and haven't had any heat issues even in heavy traffic

Use what the manual recomends.
