Keep the CPO or extend the warranty????
Hey guys,
Just purchased a CPO 2010 a4 from a Audi dealership in Seattle. Have had some really bad experiences with buying Audi from unauthorized dealers (will detail in separate post).
Car has 51k on it, CPO covers 2yr/100k miles.
CPO coveres everything but MMI w/ $80 deductible
When I got to the business manager he offered, due to my prior **** luck, to offer their 'premium plus' warranty for "$50 over cost" ($3400) which would bring my payments up about $80/mo
Premium plus warranty covers everything, including 'wear' issues and MMI with no deductible
I plan on putting around 15k miles/year on the car (just inner city commuting)
My question is whether or not you guys think I should spring for the premium plus warranty, or just keep the CPO. If any of you guys have any experience on the matter, or advice in any capacity I would greatly appreciate it
Thanks as always, you guys are always a huge help.

Seems costly to me. That is almost an extra $1k each year for the life of your loan. Not sure if the additional peace of mind would be worth it to me. Then again if the engine grenades it would be worth it.

Yeah...The CPO covers everything but the MMI controller, so engine grenades would be covered for 2ys or 50k miles. The main draw with the warranty is that I would get an extra 2 years out of the warranty, because I am not going to put 25k miles on the car/yr

I guess all I can say is I have had my 2008 for almost 4 years now and put over 100k on the odometer. If I had bought an extend warrenty I would have spent $4k on something I never used (I am guessing the warrenty would not have covered my timing belt replacement). It is a gamble and you need to decide which side you want to place your bet on.
