Key fob battery replacement?
Just bought an A4 this weekend....what type of battery does the key fob tale? Can the battery in the key fob be replaced by meor does the whole unit need to be replaced by the dealer? Also -- anyone know the cost of getting a spare key fob? Can it be ordered through Audi or a dealer?
Thanks for putting up with the newbie questions...more bound to come.

u can do it. i believe it's a 1620 or a diff combo of those 4 numbers. the battery is on the end without the key on it. just be careful u don't break the clip that holds the 2 ends together. it'll say on the battery wut type it is. make sure u put it back the right way lol
Yeah the fob just has a couple of Lithium button-style cells in it, just pop it apart carefully and you can switch them out. Should be able to find them in the camera section of Wal-Mart or Target or something. You can get a spare fob from the dealership; kinda pricey, though. I think the fob itself is like $100, plus about $50 to program it. I'd check on eBay for the fob, you can probably get one for cheap and then have the dealership program it for you.
