Bought an a4 last week and only has one key. Looking to buy Key blade and Fob on Ebay. Question is, my key fob is 8z0 837 231 b with 315mhz. The one on ebay has the same number but ends in A not B, and has 433 mhz. Will this key still work? Thanks.....

 

Open up your key fob and look for the FCC ID code. Make sure it matches to the ones on ebay.

I am probably just blind or confused but the the numbers I see are the ones i listed in the orignal post. Will the number start with fcc#. I was under the impression that 8Z0 837 231 B was the fcc# but I am probalby wrong. The only other concern is the difference in frequencies mine 315 the one on ebay 433mhz.

 

Well if you pry your key apart as if changing batteries you'll see something like this:



I don't know about the frequencies. I do that almost all of the ebay auctions list the FCC ID code. When I bought mine from ebay I just matched them and it worked fine.

What year is your car?

 

Its an 02. Based on the image you attached my fcc # is the 8Z0 837 231 B and lists the frequency right after. Mine as you can see is a litlle different. Mine does not say fcc # and it the numbers are extremely small.
