Default key less entry A4

Hii All,

I brought 1997 A4, but the previous owner was saying that it used to have remote.

i wanted to get key less entry what should i do, should i go to dealer and fix it or,
buy it from ebay and fix it on my own.

is it feasible that i can fix it on my own.

Some help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Ram.

You can buy a used one with a new blank key from Ebay for pretty cheap. Just do a search for "uncut switchblade audi" on Ebay. Make sure you get the correct FCC number on the key fob. I've posted the FCC number many times so please do a search for your info.

Take it to a dealer to have it cut. I tried a locksmith first and they messed up my blank. $5.35 for the dealer to cut and install it in the FOB. I bought a blank off ebay for $12 IIRC.

Hii Jestnomen,

thanks for your replies,

what is FCC number what is it used for, and for my 1997 Audi i dont know if it had a remote, so is it ok if i buy this from ebay and program it my self,

one more question, so does the audi dealer cut the key for me, if so how much (approx) does they charge,

i was looking on ebay for uncut keys, is this the right one.
