unlocks the door and locks it plus activates the immobiliser which is a basic requirement on UK cars the rest are just toys but nice anyway

Ya, i dont know if there was a previous remote or not,

and is it feasible to buy a four button remote, does this work for my car.

my book shows that a 98 uses a 4 button remote,so i guess it is safe to say if you have the trunk button on the door and it makes an electric motor noise,like one second on an electric can opener.then u can use the 4 button remote.
