Hey! Well, like everyone else said, if you know for sure that you have the automatic
trunk release( you'll know if you do if when opening the trunk you just puch an
electric button as opposed to a manual button in the back) and all that good
stuff then go ahead and buy the switch blade key. I originally didn't know
whether it would work, and I asked the dealer. They told me that the switch
blade doesn't work for any car before 1998. But they lie!!..Anyways, I know it works
because I use it as well..Just make sure that you have 2 keys to program your
new remote.
If you need programming instructions, let me know! It's REALLY easy...

Hello, I have a 2002 A4 Q3.0, and I only have one remote key. I want to get another one, however, the dealer charge almost 300 bucks for this, and I know for sure that it's WAY overpriced. Is there any other ways other than the dealer that you can copy another way? Can you make one yourself? If so, how do you do it.

Thank you for your help.

B5 Audi's do not have the trunk release via remote feature. They use the 3 button key (lock unlock and panic). B6's use the 4 button remote as they have trunk release.

B7 Key

The 4 button key fobs will work on B5 cars without the trunk release too. The button just won't do anything. The most important thing to do is to match your FCC number with they key fob on ebay. You can find your FCC number by seperating your current key fob and looking inside for the FCC number. It will look something like "MZ2 410 819 6 4" After you find which FCC number you need you can go on ebay and search for uncut switchblade keys. My dealer cuts keys for 10 bucks. Also, switchblade keys work on all years except 96's. They have an entirely different locking system.

don't have a remote to compare to -- when I bought the car all it had was the valet key. Is there another way to indentify the FCC #. Thanks
