I have a 1998 Quattro A4 2.8, the oem keyfob is nonfunctional. I did replace the batteries in the keyfob, no luck. I found a New Fob for sale on ebay, I bought and have recieved. My intent was to just swap the keys along with the id chip (glass tube chip). I removed the audi logo and remove the screw on both units. My old keyfob I was able to easily open it and remove the key, great right! But then with the new keyfob after removing the screw, I am unable to pry it apart as I did with the old keyfob. Is there something I am missing or is the sucker glued?
