keyless entry / gas lid issues
Hello guys...Just today I got my car out of the shop: 2002 A4 Turbo
Electronic Diagnostic check.....$200
Comfort Control Chip Replacement...$350
Timing Belt...$550
Antifreeze, Lube, and a few other things.
Before I took it into the shop, my interior electronics were going haywire which was caused by a faulty Comfort Control switch problem. Also my Keyless Entry didnt work and my Gas Lid would not unlock. I assumed the Keyless and Gas Lid were tied to the control switch but it isnt. Upon review of the Diagnostic nothing showed up faulty about the keyless entry or gas lid problem and the problem still persists. I followed the Keyless reprograming steps offered in audiforums self help but that did not work either (also car manual instruction). I check all fuses and everything is good, and I replaced the batteries in the switchblade keys (both keys). What other steps should I take to solve this problem short of taking to dealer?

Both problems have nothing to do with each other, the gas lid has a little actuator behind the right trunk trim. You have to check the voltage to the actuator when pressing either the lock or unlock button on the key, if there is voltage there then the actuator needs to be replaced.
As for the keys, take the batteries out again and make sure the voltage/voltages are over 3V, if they are you may have bad remotes.
