Kinda new with transmission questions
I have a 96 2.8L FWD A4 that has some +130K miles on it. I know the dealer says the tranny fluid is supposed to last the life of the car but I don't want the life of the car shortened by not changing the tranny fluid. I was wondering what is the best oil to use and should I go ahead and change the filter also? I have a write up on the AWD model but is there anything I should now that is differnt with the FWD model? Thanks
Yes, chaning it is a PIA. The car has to be perfectly level. I'd ask a VW independent mechanic to do it. Should be less than 100 dollars including fluid to drop 3 quarts in. That is for a pan drain. I have it done on my car every 60K or so.
