Default Transmission Questions

Hello, I've got a 2003 Audi A6 3.0L with the FWD CVT.

It's got about 119,000 miles on it, and the CVT fluid was changed about 2,000 miles ago. I've had no problems with the transmission until today. I started the car and the engine didn't seem to idle right, but that may be unrelated, or not because I've never had problems with the engine until today either.

After the car idled for about 2 minutes I decided it was probably just the cold weather and shifted into reverse to back out of the driveway and it kind of shuttered and refused to reverse until it reached about 2,000 RPM, kind of felt like the clutch was having problems. It also felt like the engine was working harder than normal to get the car up to speed on the highway, or at least wasn't accelerating normally.

I am familiar with the CVT problems that exist with this transmission, but my question is, can I do anything about this without having to pay what the car is worth in replacing the transmission? Is there anyway I can added Seafoam Trans Tune to maybe clean out the gunk that the fluid change didn't get, or some other way to preserve the transmission?

I really can't afford to replace the transmission or wait for it to just die. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.
