Default Is it a lemon or not...

My boy just bought a 2005 audi A4. ( i influenced him to get one) last night he spent the night at his girlfriends house and when we went out to his car the remote was not working and it did not start. No Power at all had to jump the car. So when he got out of class at 11am again the car did not start no power had to jump it again and we took it to the dealer. So the dealer said it was his battery. now the car is fine but I think it was the fuel pump not sure.... Checked car fax and it has a gauranteed clean record. What do u guys think is wrong with the car? I mean seriously a battery dieing quick like that is not good. So i am telling him to get another one because he bought it on saturday. i am not sure it may be a lemon but than again it may not be. Would u guys give the car back for another one or take ur chances?????????

One problem does not a lemon make.

When the car didn't start, did it turn over at all?

Sounds like the battery, not the fuel pump. If it was the fuel pump, it would crank over but not fire up.

If the new battery dies, check for an electrical problem causing the battery to drain, or a problem with the charging system.

+1 - is there anything non-stock in the car that has been wired in? like a amplifier or any else? I would suspect a problem with the electrical system and possibly having a + short to ground somewhere.

ok - after i read it a second time I guess i misunderstood the first time. So he had a dead battery - how long did he drive from his GF's to school - would it have given the car time to charge? There has been no problem since this happened - so whats the problem - one dead battery and you think its a lemon. talk to Jonny if you want to talk about buying a lemon.
