Default A little dilemma

Ok so first the bad news, I was sitting in my car at the post office parked looking at a package I had received when some old man backs out next to me and swings his car into my bumper!!! He didnt even know he hit me. I stopped him and told him to pay up. I got an estimate for the damage at $362 for refinishing the bumper because it has scratches. Now I can go ahead and do this or take the money and purchase and APR or GIAC chip and put it in. Now I think I will get pissed about the scratches every time I look at the bumper, but the chip might make me smile more than I frown from the scratches. What do you guys think, chip or bodywork????

Its really hard to post pics now because its below zero, i dont have a digital camera, and there is salt, sand all over the bumper even though I just washed it. Basically there are 3 faint scratches on the driver side rear bumper that are through the paint. The bumper is plastic so it wont rust but yet its an eyesore because I know its there. There were 3 similar scratches on the front bumper that were there when I bought it so I dont know what to do. If I do get the chip, I would send my ecu out and I would put it in myself. Again sorry about the lack of pics but its not really possible now.

After awhile the "fun factor" of having a chip will wear off and you will still have a scratched up bumper. Your choice in the end - without a photo we can't even tell you what we would do in your situation.
