Default Quite a dilemma

Ok fellas, within the next month or two I'll be buying an audi. This summer I came a signature away from a 2000 S4 with 55k miles for about 14k. A little pissed but was about to go back out to college. Right now I'm stuck between three options, a B5, B6, or 2006/7 A3. Each have their own perks and downsides. Here is how I look at it:

B5 S4:Highs:Cheap upfront, will mod the **** out of it, better mpg than aB6, 2.7T,leaning towards the B5. Lows: Higher mileage, will require a lot more maintenance, older car... duh

B6: Highs: Lower mileage and has decent power out-of-the-box, would be happy with only a few mods, overall newer car. Lows: Pricier to start, not that many mods, higher mpg, higher insurance than B5.

A3: Highs: Great mpg, low miles, love the 2.0T w/ DSG, love the newer body style with oettinger styling, cheaper than B6, reliable, warranty. Lows: Almost fully modded will only be as fast or maybe slightly faster than stock S4.

This is basically what I'm debating...

Thanks!

depends on what your long-tern outlook is. If POWER does it for you, get the B5. if it's a cross between mods/power, get the B6. Looks, gas mileage (in these times THAT has to be the BIGGEST factor), insurance? A3

so, what flaver is YOUR Audi going to be?

I agree its really a personal thing. I own a b5 and would prefer it to a b6 or A3 any day. However i would take a black b7 over my b5.

It's really personal choice, you can make them all fast and ride the way you want them too.. But with the b5 your already turbo so the sky is the limit

I just love them all for different reasons, so I have to figure out which is most practical and which I will be most happy with. One thing I forgot to mention is I live in the mountains and half the year I'm at college, which also has snow to deal with. This is one disadvantage with the A3 2.0T since its only FWD

ForME the A3 is just out of the question, but if you can find another low mile B5 like that other one do that. Anything under 65k for a B5 is not bad at all. B6 is the middleman, h*** if you can't decide at all go with this just because its faster like a B5 but newer and lower miles like the A3.

Meh, I'd take the B6 over the B5 because its newer and more reliable, but if I had the money for a B6 I would probably buy something else.

the b5 will run you some money to fix, so i guess that takes away from the b6 being more pricey..but if you take good care of the b5, hopefully, yes hopefully, you don't have that many problems

Thanks for the input guys, they all have their perks and I'm still not completely sure which to get. I truly love them all and will be satisfied with any audi really
