Ok I've read thru the fourms and stuff and well everything is on the 1.8T. I'm looking to replace the collent sensor as my guage is trippen out on me. I know it could be the thermistat but that will be down with the TBelt here in the next 2 months. Everything it the front will be replaced.

Anyone have a picture of the location for the Collent Sensor on a 2003 3.0 quattro. I've looked and havnt come acrost one at all.

here the link for the 2.8, im fairly sure the 3.0 should have the sensor int eh same place, take a look, you may get lucky. another rule of thumb is the ECT is usually somewhere along the coolant flange.

I was afraid that it was that one. I might get stuck taking it someware I cant get my wrist to pass the lines. Pliers are just a tad to tight oh well. Thx much for the help SAudi. My guess is the 2.8 and the 3.0 are the same motor just differnt bore and stroke?

sry bout not being able to reach it man. u really don't need to put ur hand in there though. just get a foot long piece or wire. bend a hook to one side of it. then get a long flat head screw driver. hook the wire to the clip u have to pull out anduse the screw driver to pull the clip out. then unscrew ur reservoir cap and the snsor will easily come out. remember this though. once u uncap the tank and take the snsor out, quickly screw it cap back on. if u don't, alot of the coolant will come gushing out of the flange. if u live in binghamton, ny i would do it for u man. but i got no idea wea u live lol. and to put the new one back in, put the oring in the orifice first, then try to put the sensor on. it won't go on because the reservoir cap is on. untighten the reservoir cap untill u get a stream of coolant coming out of the flange and then put down on the sensor. put the click back in and ur all done. it's easier said than done. but the job is much easier if u have someone unscrewing and screwing the cap.
