Ecu location in b5 S4

Question Ecu location in b5 S4

Just wondering where the ecu is in the engine bay an a pic if possible an any tricks if at all

in taking it out thanks

I believe its on the drivers side, up near the cabin. Its a big black plastic box. Then again I have been proven wrong before lol.

Yah, just remove the molding, as shown in the pic, and it's right there in a black plastic box.

Just a helpful note, you can get by with leaving the rear-most screw/bolt (it is a PITA to get to) in place and rotating the cover enough to get the ECU unplugged.

thanks a lot guys ! may have to wait till tomorrow theres about 6 inches of snow now atleast an still going

Dang I didn't even think of rotating it last weekend, I was getting ready to pull the windshield wipers to get at the trim. Luckily I had the right adapters to get to it, but I sure as hell didn't put it back in...
