Jeez, after about 2 hours of reading the puzzle and riddle thread, I'm ready to post some questions about my car!

01. Being a '99, I counted on there being some dents and dings - solutions? I have considered a few options, like complete panel replacement, rolling out panels and of course the touch up, buff and hide technique. Please share experiences! I have a fairly large dent near the gas tank door, obviously from a four-door bang-up, a passenger side door dent near the front hinges (this is the worst one) where someone really went to town in the parking lot it seems! And on the same door panel, there is a deep pit (and I can see a little bit of white undercoating) that needs to be addressed immediately. With the dings there are some scrapes, but I think I might just be able to buff those out...sigh...

02. Rims and rubber. What is the best size of rim for this car, and I mean looks!! My paint is like a brownish black - not sure that made sense, but I am interested to see what is out there for rims. Remember, I live in Canada, so these would be my summer only rims and also, I need to be able to get them here in Canada if anyone would like to suggest some links in that direction. Tires are another question: My wife does a lot of mountain area driving (paved though!) and I want her to have a nice quiet, floating feel. Is it true with the all wheel drive that the car feels a little bit stiff? I thought maybe the handling would be a bit more agile - but then again, this is my first Audi!

03. Performance brakes - Need some info on those great looking and performing setups!! Or should I just do some painting? I thought a nice setup would be good to go with my new rims and rubber...

04. Used Audi parts? Any Canadian locations??? I need some trim for the main drivers side door. I'm not sure what it is called, but I'm missing a huge chunk out of it and it looks like hell. I'm sure there is a place where I can get that piece stripped off an old door! I also noticed today that my drivers side mirror has some rust like stains (like watermarks) and I'm sure I can find a replacement somewhere. Am I getting too **** yet?? LOL Also I have a missing light switch (just the slidy thingy) in my back seat...

05. Now this next question is a bit more mechanical: When I am in gear, the car tends to vibrate throughout the whole car and seems to relax a bit when in P or N. Is this normal? Fluids are good, and it is idling what appears to be normal. Let me know what you all think.

06. Leather care. I have a rip that is being fixed Tues. morning. Other than that it seems to be o.k. Anyone have tips on caring for your leather interior - as this is my first leather interior vehicle! I bought some Armor All crap, but it seems to leave a thick greasy feel to it.

07. The previous owners were smokers (nothing against them, hey, I used to be a smoker too) and I want to rid the after smell of them smoking in there. Possible beyond air fresheners?

08. My new car came with a six-disc cd changer. Too old for mp3 support and dvds, and the speakers have been pounded beyond repair - what are some of your experiences with changing the stock speakers, decks, etc. I want to know if it is tricky to install electronics in these things. I think I want to go with a simple dvd/lcd screen deck with a single amp and replace all mid-range speakers. What were put in these cars stock? I want to at least match the quality of stock...

09. Where is the damn clock???? This thing tells me the temperature outside, but doesn't tell time - there is something funky going on here... Maybe when the new stereo goes in that will solve my problem. Hopefully in the interm in can be a little cheaper!!

10. Alright, the biggest question I have: Is it worth putting in some performance upgrades (chip, exhaust, cai, etc...) in these things? If it dramatically decreases mileage for a minimum amount of Hp, tell it to me straight!! Mind you the previous forum post are opening my eyes to a lot of things. But if anyone has anything to say: PLEASE DO!

Man this is getting long... I'll hold off on the rest of my questions until I get some feedback.

And I swore to myself that this would not become an obsession!

well i dont think you said it in there but from the looks of your pic the car is a 2.8 therefore leaving your performance options pretty linited to a custom exhasut witha k&n filter or if you wana drop some big $ a G2 supercharger...... Wells 18's are probably best but your gunna want to lower it to make it look less like a 4x4 even with the sport pkg which it looks like you have the cars ride too high imo, for brakes check out ESC for their bbk

 

2. 18x8.8 is the best set IMO of B5s

3. if ur not gonna do some track just get some better rotors, pads and steel lines

5. how long does the vibration last, it should be just the shifting of the gears

6. buy some conditioner for the leather also if u want

7. u can get the car detailed and the interior washed and clean

8. im not sure about that stuff[&o]

9. u only have clock for urslef and it should be next to the spedometer

10. looks like u have a 2.8 V6 casue of the chrome trim, if so look at this
