Ok heres my problem I accidently let my fuel light come on and thats when the noise started it sounds like its the pump. I am afraid that because I let it get so low that it pick up something in the tank. The car has 49,530 miles I wouldn't think that the pump would go bad that some ,but with the luck I am having with this car I wouldnt be suprised. Anyways the noise happens when driving sitting still it doesnt matter it does it all the time sounds like a loud buzzing not like normal fuel pump operation. It gets higher pitched at times to. Someone please give info if any thanks.[:@]

Info I got from someplace... might help..."The fuel pump should be running all the time that the engine in your car is started and running. You should not be hearing a loud buzz from the fuel pump. You may have a faulty fuel pump or a plugged fuel filter. The fuel pressure is controlled by a fuel pressure regulator and could also be faulty. "
