lowering a b5 a4 with 18"s
Hi everyone, I'm new here obviously - I've never owned an audi myself, I like older porsches and spend alot of time on Rennlist if any of yall are familiar with that site. A friend of mine recently picked up an audi though, and has asked me to help him get some info on some lowering springs for his new ride.
My buddy has a 01 or 02 a4 quattro 1.8t that came with 18" rims when he bought it, and due to the rims and stock suspension it sits a little high so he would like to lower it. I told him that the easiest way to do it would be to just put some lowering springs on it and he found these 3 kits:

http://www.coximport.com/EIB-1578.140
http://www.coximport.com/EIB-4.8215
Its been a while since I looked at it up close, but I seem to remember looking inside the rear wheel wells behind the wheel and seeing some suspension component, probably just the shock (I can't remember what it was cause its been a while since I looked at it, and I'm not familiar with newer audi's suspension setups). Anyway, I seem to recall thinking while I was looking at it that if the car was lowered with the 18s on it the wheel would interfere with this piece. I guess my question is this: are there any issues with putting lowering springs on a b5 with 18s? I think the wheels are probably 7" widths if that makes any difference.
Any advice/info would be greatly appreciated.

You are going to have to change both the springs and shocks. the stock shocks wont last long with new srpings so have him do both to save him ltime and money! I have 18's on my car in the summer and i have Coilovers on my car and it sits pretty low on the car and i dont have a problem with rubbing or anything!
