Default Lowering woes

OK, so I lowered my car 1.5" a few weeks ago (KYB shocks, Neuspeed sport springs). I had the alignment done today and they couldn't get the camber angle within spec. I've done some reading and found out that this was normal. After looking at the car parked on flat ground I thought the drivers side was slightly higher than the passenger side. I walked around the car and checked the gap on each tire with two fingers and it's just as i thought, slightly lower on the passenger side. Before i took it in for the alignment, the driver's side rear wheel well was sitting almost a full finger width higher than the other three, but now it's the same as the front wheel well. There isn't a drastic difference, but I can tell. It is pretty darn close front and back on each side, but different on each side. Is this something I should worry about? I just put new goodyear tripletreads on it when it was lowered and would really like to keep them for more than a few thousand miles. Anyone have any thoughts?

Well you do have to wait for the new shocks/springs to settle, but if youve had it on there for a few weeks now then you probably need an adjustment. You could experience some abnormal tire wear and handling from that.

What was the camber measurement for it?

Anyone that has lowered their car has this issue. The alignment shops go nuts when you bring it in to them, scaring you with fears of how your tires will be gone in a week.

I took mine to a specialty shop and had them align. They reccomended -1.5 of camber, even though its out of spec, because the car handles so much better. Most of us have not experienced poor tire wear. Just make sure you rotate the fronts and backs every 10k miles for even wear. I had this done 10k ago, and everything seems to be wearing just fine, and the car handles like its on rails. The tires have prob. 30k on them with plenty left, and I drive it fairly hard.

Now , the ride height is another story. I had the shop set the ride height on mine at the time also, but I have adjustable coilovers, and they made sure the car was level on all 4 corners. So, you must have some slight variation in the springs or shocks that is making things not right. I dont have a clue if this is good or bad, or fixable. My guess would be you have a bad spring in the bunch. I would think that its not good, but I dont have the knowledge to give you a definite on this.

I would reccomend having a performance shop set the ride height and align it the next time you go to replace the tires, so everything is right. For now you are probably OK. You may want to ask the shop that installed the parts why the ride height is not uniform, and see if you can get them to fix it and align it properly.

Like i said, lowered for a few weeks (three weeks and five days to be exact), alignment done today, that's plenty of time to settle. I checked spacing last week and this week before i scheduled the appointment to make sure.
